At its 2003 Annual Meeting the Hanover Chamber of Commerce honored Dr. Albert Pizzi with its Businessperson of the Year award. This tribute is bestowed annually on the businessperson in Hanover who best combines high moral values, excellent business acumen, and an outstanding business environment with contributions to the local community.
In its tribute, the Chamber said:
"Dr. Albert Pizzi represents everything we seek in selecting a Businessperson of the Year. In addition to running a successful business here in Hanover for over 36 years, he has been a compassionate and giving resident of Hanover and of the entire community.
Dr. Pizzi and his wife Patricia, retired special needs teacher at the Cedar School, came to Hanover in 1967. They eventually moved to Mayflower Circle and raised three children, Kevin Pizzi, DMD, who practices with his father and lives in Hanover; Albert, Jr., of Kingston, in the construction business; and Nina Consolini of Hanson, a business technology DECA advisor at Whitman/Hanson High School.
Artistic Dentistry of Hanover includes a third dentist, Mark E. Donelan, DMD, also a Hanover resident and in practice with Dr. Pizzi for many years.
Dr. Pizzi and his associates and staff have often visited local schools, kindergartens, and preschools to give youngsters early training in care of their teeth. They reached 1400 children this year in Hanover, Norwell, Hanson, Pembroke, Kingston, Abington, Rockland, Quincy and Weymouth.
The Artistic Dentistry team has also been involved for many years in the Boston "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk," raising thousands of dollars.
Their annual "Buck a Brush" fundraiser has raised thousands of dollars for various foundations.
The dentists, with their sports dentistry expertise, have volunteered to make athletic mouthpieces for the Hanover High School varsity girls' soccer team, boys' football team, and boys' basketball team . They have also helped athletes in the Special Olympics.
Dr. Pizzi has been on the staff at Tufts Dental School and the Boston University Graduate School of Dentistry.
